The 2nd Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), jointly organised by the European Commission and the Hellenic Republic with the support of the EUSAIR Facility point, took place in Ioannina (Greece) on 11 & 12 May 2017.
The event took stock of the progress and achievements since the 1st Forum held in Dubrovnik in May 2016 and contributed to define the way ahead. Focus of the 2nd EUSAIR Forum was Blue Growth in particular and its interrelations with the other EUSAIR pillars: Environmental quality, Sustainable tourism and Connecting the Region.
Stakeholders, potential beneficiaries, academics, entrepreneurs and the local community found a common ground to exchange ideas, present project proposals and seek sources of funding through the correspondent European programmes and their respective calls. Raising awareness on the Strategy and increasing its visibility were among the main goals of the conference.
The event provided ample possibilities for networking and represented a great opportunity to reach out to a wide range of stakeholders from the Region, including national, regional and local administrations, the business sector, the academia and the civil society at large.
The B2B event was organized, as a side event of the Forum, as an opportunity to SMEs to meet with other SMEs within EUSAIR; to identify and develop common actions and projects; to reach relevant partners.
The B2B session offered to Terracom and others businesses, the unique opportunity to meet with representatives of the European Commission, the EIB, the Network of Business Angels, Ministries and other institutions to discuss the possibility to submit specific project ideas to the upcoming calls, and learn first-hand what are the opportunities for financing.
